Ferry to Paros

Getting to Paros

At the heart of the Cyclades

Paros is situated at the heart of the Cyclades islands, 160 km south east of Athens and north of Crete. It is easily accessible by ferry and by air, and is on the busiest routes in the Aegean.

⛴️ By Ferry

Paros is on the busiest ferry routes from Athens (Piraeus and in summer, Rafina).

Fast ferry: approx. 2h 50m, around €70

Blue Star: approx. 4h 30m, around €40–50

We recommend Ferryhopper for timetables and booking. Out of season, it's often best not to book until a day or two before as schedules can change with the weather.

✈️ Flights from the UK

Several airlines serve Greece from the UK. In season (April–October), EasyJet flies to Mykonos, Santorini and Athens.

Olympic/Aegean offers an overnight flight from Heathrow — approx. 22:00 Heathrow, arriving Athens 03:50, then Paros 08:00.

Also check British Airways, Wizzair and other carriers. Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh have seasonal services.

🛩️ Athens to Paros

You can fly from Athens via Olympic/Aegean or Sky Express. The flight takes around 30 minutes.

The Paros airport is currently expanding. By 2026 there may well be direct flights from the UK.

Alternatively, take the metro to Piraeus (about 1 hour) and board the 17:30 Blue Star, arriving Paros at 22:00.

💨 A Note on Winds

Winds in the Cyclades can cause some boats to be cancelled in any season. Please be aware that if the wind blows up, this could potentially impact on getting off the island to connect with a flight.

Factor in some buffer time when planning onward travel from Paros, especially in shoulder season.

Getting around the island

Milos House is 10 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Paroikia harbour by car. You will need to hire a car — the house is at the top of a steep hill.

Recommended: Loukis Rental have offices in the main square and at the port. Tel: +30 22840 23679 (Dora). They can arrange a car to meet you at the airport or port — book in advance in high season and mention Pete for best rates.

The local village of Alyki has tavernas, supermarkets, a bakery, ATM and is just 5 minutes away by car. The nearest beach (Voutakos) is 7 minutes by car.
